What is Tongits Go and why is it so popular?

The game starts with three players, each receiving 13 cards. The goal is to form valid sets and sequences with the cards in hand to ensure fewer points than the opponents. The chance to Dump, the moment to call Tongits, and the Challenge — every decision brings excitement.

Tongits Go Rules and Strategy
Learn the Basic Rules
Tongits Go is played with a standard 52-card deck. Each of the three players receives 13 cards and the remaining 13 cards sit in the middle as a pile. On each turn, a player draws one card and discards one.
The goal is to form sets (three or four cards of the same rank) and sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit). The fewer unmelded point cards you hold, the better your chances of winning.
The game ends when the pile runs out or someone calls Tongits (all cards melded). A Challenge can also be issued against opponents. The player with the fewest points or who calls Tongits wins.
Strategic Tips
- Watch the cards your opponents discard carefully — try to figure out what sets they are building.
- Discard high-point unmelded cards (Ace, King, Queen, Jack) as quickly as possible.
- When the pile is almost gone, look for a chance to Dump — if your points are low, issue a Challenge.
- Before calling Tongits, make sure no opponent holds fewer points than you.
- Not letting opponents place cards onto your melded sets increases your advantage.
